Our History

Mike Watcher's Used Cars, family-owned and operated, has been located in Pottsville since 1975, when twenty-one year old Mike Watcher, Sr. opened his first garage on South Center Street. After moving to his present location at 1540 West Market Street in 1977, Mike expanded the business to encompass both auto repairs and sales. With more than twenty five years experience in automotive mechanics, Mike can knowledgeably recommend the vehicle that best suits the customer's budget and needs.

After the sale, Watcher's Garage provides continued service and technical assistance that is so crucial with today's vehicles. With a reputation for excellent service after the sale, Watcher's has a large and loyal customer base; multiple generations of local families depend on Mike Watcher's for their auto service needs. Although Jeeps are the niche market that Watcher's specializes in, both Mike Sr. and his son Mike Jr. strive to provide high-quality, dependable vehicles of all makes and models, along with top-notch follow-up service for every customer.

We employ seven fulltime automotive technicians at our repair facility in Minersville. Our ASE certified techs can perform repairs from minor regular maintenance to major engine repairs. With recently added state-of-the-art air conditioning repair equipment, as well as the technical expertise to solve those computer-related service problems, we are able to do repairs that many garages simply are not able to handle. We can provide fast turn on your repairs; in fact, in many cases, an appointment is not even necessary. And, for your convenience, we are open on Saturday.

We Meet By Accident!

Our auto body shop at our Minersville location was updated in 2012 with the addition of our state-of-the-art downdraft paint booth. Employing the latest technology, this system uses a computer controlled eco-friendly water-born paint spray system. The paint is then baked onto the vehicle, creating a flawless finish that is complete in just a few hours. We employ four full-time auto body technicians, each of whom has at least 25 years experience in the field. We also offer our body shop customers a complimentary auto rental with any body repair job.

Affordable Exhaust Repairs

In 2012, we added exhaust repairs to our long list of services offered. Our exhaust tech is 30+ year veteran in the field of custom fabricated exhaust systems. Under his expertise, we can fabricate complete exhaust systems from the manifold back. We also repair flex pipes (a very common problem with most vehicles) at a fraction of the price our competition will charge. We also offer specialty welding and fabrication.
